nice to meet you!
A welcoming exhibition brand identity exploring connection, belonging, and meeting through design.
Table asked me to design the identity and supporting digital
and print materials for their first exhibition, Nice To Meet You!
Their mission is to support emerging designers from diverse
backgrounds and make the design industry more open and
welcoming. The exhibition explored the idea that a simple
greeting can create connection and belonging. The identity
needed to communicate warmth, openness and invitation
making visitors feel welcome before entering the space.

THE RESEARCH
In the early research phase,
I explored what visually represents welcome, trust and connection.
Through brainstorming and ideation, I mapped associations around greeting someone: openness, friendship, support,
and people from different backgrounds coming together.
From this research, I explored three visual directions inspired
by symbols of connection,
trust, and entering a shared space.

I designed a flexible visual identity system built around abstract shapes inspired by the idea of an open and welcoming space. Instead of relying on a single symbol, I developed a system of icons representing the different works exhibited at the show. Each icon acts as a visual greeting from the designers presenting their projects.
